Tiffany Kaharick, who had her first child in September of 2009, is a licensed massage therapist and graduate of the Space Coast Health Institute. She currently practices at the Positive Change Health Center in Sebastian, Florida. Tiffany previously spent five years on staff at Florida Hospital Orlando as a critical care registered respiratory therapist. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Cardio-Pulmonary Science from the University of Central Florida in 2000, she became a member of the elite Florida Flight 1 medical helicopter team for two years.

“Florida Hospital was one of only a few hospitals in the country that employed respiratory therapists on helicopters, so this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. I was one of two team members per shift working closely with the chief flight nurse, helping critically ill patients receive life-saving treatment. Lifting off in the helicopter and flying over the tops of the skyscrapers in downtown Orlando was exhilarating. It didn’t feel like work – more like an adventure,” Tiffany says.

Tiffany’s passion for extreme sports began as a teenager, when an aunt taught her how to surf, which later became such an obsession that she would hit the waves at dawn before heading off to class. “Even the coldest day in winter couldn't keep me out of the water, all of my fingers and toes would turn blue,” she says with a laugh. “But it didn’t matter – I loved it so much.” In 1999, Tiffany discovered an even greater thrill – skydiving – and has since logged over 300 jumps. “I was hooked from the minute I fell out of the plane.” Then, in 2005, came what she calls “the hardest thing I’ve ever done” – summiting the 12,388 ft. Mt. Fuji, an active volcano in Japan. “We were walking on just lava rock the whole time, and sometimes it’s so steep that it’s almost as if you’re climbing a ladder. It’s all switchbacks and treacherous. I couldn’t walk for two days.”
